Mayonnaise Cake

My father’s favorite cake. He requests it for you ever Birthday. This wonderful man will turn 90 years old next year and I bet he’ll be having it for this birthday.

Instructions
  1. In large bowl combined flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking soda.
  2. Add vanilla, mayonnaise and then add the very hot water. The water can be boiled when you begin the recipe then measured and ready when needed. Mix well with whisk or wooden spoon, but do not over beat it.
  3. Place mixture in an ungreased cake pan. Get it a slight drop on the counter to get the air bubbles out.
  4. Bake in a 350º oven, for 35 to 40 minutes.
  5. Let cool on cooling rack.
  6. Prepare the vanilla pudding or whipping cream. I will sometimes make both and fold them together. Yum! Cut cake and serve with topping.

My grandmother gave this recipe to my mother because it is my father's favorite cake.

The best part about this cake, it's not overly sweet. Which it makes it easy to have a second piece!
